1. What these terms cover

These terms are between you and Maker’s Edge Inc. ("CERTI", "we", "us"), and they govern your use of getcerti.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.

These are not the terms for the CERTI platform. Access to the CERTI product, and everything that matters about it — what we do with your documents, security commitments, availability, fees, liability and termination — is governed by a separate written customer agreement between CERTI and your organisation. Nothing on this page varies that agreement, and nothing on this page grants you a right to use the platform. If you are evaluating CERTI and want to see the customer agreement, ask us.

2. Using this website

You may read the site, and share links to it. Please do not:

If you find a security vulnerability, please tell us at [email protected] rather than exploit it. We will not pursue good-faith researchers who report privately and give us reasonable time to fix the issue.

3. Our intellectual property

The site, its text, layout, design, photography, video, code and the CERTI name and logo are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by intellectual property law. Reading the site does not transfer any of those rights to you.

You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link, for example in an article or an internal evaluation. Anything beyond that — reproducing substantial parts of the site, or using our brand in your own materials — needs our written permission.

Third-party trademarks referred to on the site, including certification schemes and standards bodies, belong to their respective owners. Referring to a standard does not imply that its owner endorses CERTI.

4. Third-party services on this site

Parts of the site rely on services operated by other companies: our demo walkthroughs are hosted by Arcade, demo bookings are handled by Cal.com, and code libraries are delivered by jsDelivr. When you use one of those features, that provider's own terms and privacy practices apply to what you do there. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content or availability. Which data each one receives is set out in section 2 of our privacy policy.

The site may also link to other websites. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for what is on the other end of it.

5. No guarantee of compliance, and no advice

This is the most important section on this page, so it is written plainly.

CERTI is a tool. It is not a guarantee that you will pass an audit, achieve or keep a certification, or satisfy any law, standard or scheme. Where the site describes CERTI as keeping manufacturers compliant, that describes what the product is designed to help you do. It is not a warranty of any particular outcome. Certification and regulatory outcomes depend on your own operations, records and decisions, and on the judgement of your auditors and regulators, none of which we control.

Nothing on this site is legal, regulatory or professional advice. Information about standards, schemes and regulatory requirements is provided for general orientation, may be simplified, and may become out of date as standards are revised. Do not rely on it as your compliance position. Check the current text of any standard that applies to you, and take professional advice where you need it.

Product descriptions, roadmap statements and performance figures on the site describe what CERTI does or is intended to do at the time of writing. They may change, and they are not commitments unless they appear in your customer agreement.

6. The site is provided as is

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, business or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website — even if we have been advised that such loss might occur.

Our total liability arising from your use of this website will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US$100). This reflects the fact that the site is provided free of charge and that no commercial relationship arises from visiting it; any liability connected with the CERTI platform is dealt with in the customer agreement instead.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of section 2 or section 3 — that is, from misusing the site or our intellectual property. This does not apply to claims arising from our own acts or omissions.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. When we do we will change the date at the top of this page, and the updated version applies to your use of the site from the moment it is posted. If a change is significant we will make that clear rather than rely on the date alone. The previous version is available on request.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we each consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
